Homecoming week!!

We had homecoming spirt week at Roncalli last week. We have different dress down themes each day. The little Rebel day care had theme days also. The first day was come as you are day, so we both got to wear our PJ's to school. Tuesday was nerd day at Roncalli, but hat day at the daycare. This was not a favorite for Madelyn because she does not like to wear hates. Wednesday was college day. I wore Dayton stuff, but Madelyn did not have anything to wear. Thursday was favorite movie character at Roncalli and crazy clothes day. Then Friday was red, white, and blue day. Madelyn did not have anything Roncalli, so we borrowed something from a little girl at the daycare. Here is a picture of Mommy and Madelyn in our Roncalli stuff. Also, we had a pep rally, which got to come to. She loved the pep rally!!!

Big Girl!!

She was helping Daddy and Grandpa put the bed together.

My baby is growing up very quickly. She is sleeping in a big girl bed now. She did not want to sleep in her crib anymore. She would just scream, so we laid her on the floor one night and she went to sleep. My parents keep my bed from when I was little. She was so excited when my dad and Rob were putting it together. She knew it was for her. The first night was a little rough, but tonight it took her 20 mintues to go to sleep. I think last night she was so excited that she had a hard time falling asleep. After we left the room tonight, she got out of her bed and was crying for a few minutes. I went to check on her after I knew she was a sleep and she was in her bed.

Sunday

I was going to be very productive today. I made a list of everything I wanted to do and I was in the mood to clean. Madelyn went down for her afternoon nap and I started to clean until I heard Rob. Rob went to get the clothes out of the dryer and found a red crayon. The crayon had melted in the dryer all over our clothes, so I started working on the clothes (it was probably 10 different shirts or pants that I actually cleaned). I got a toothbrush and dreft and started scrubing all the clothes, except for a couple of things that needed to be thrown out anyway. After I spent 2 and a half hours scrubbing with the toothbrush, we washed the clothes in oxyclean and used bleach. I am happy to say that the clothes are stain free. However, I got nothing done on my list except update the blog.

Madelyn has learned how to pull up and down her pants, but only the front part. I have never asked her to do this until today and she understood what I asked her. The pictures are of the cat in the pile of laudry that had crayon on it.

Holiday World!!

This was a hard week because I was gone from Madelyn from Monday to Wednesday. I had cross country camp at CYO camp. It was hard being away from my family, but I had a good time. I got to do the high rope which was about 30 feet high. Then, we went to Holiday World as a team on Thursday. Since I did not get to see Madelyn Monday through Wednesday (except for 4 hours on Wednesday) my parents brought her down to Holiday World for a few hours. Madelyn loved the water and the water slides. They had slide that she could do by herself or with me. I have never see her laugh so much. I even got comments from other people that she was having a great time and how she had no fear of the water. I wish that Rob could have gone, but he had meetings for school. Also, we have no pictures because I did not bring my camera. I wish I could have recorded the whole thing. We will have to take her back again next year.

Madelyn's baby!!!

Madelyn loves to play with her baby dolls. Ever since we went to visit Lindsay, she makes her baby cry when she is holding them. At first, we thought she was crying until we realized she was pretending. She loves to give her baby kisses and will even pretend to change her diaper. She also will dance and play ring around the rosie. Ring around the rosis is the best because she will throw the baby down at the end. We will have to get a video at some point. We still can't find our camcorder, but these videos are from our camera.

Incredible Pizza

We took Madelyn to the Incredible Pizza Company one night. It is new in Indianapolis. They have a buffet that is not just pizza and it is all you can eat. They have games, go karts, bowling, putt putt, and a kid area for Madelyn. Here is a couple of pictures of Madelyn on the carousel. We had a great time and would recommended.

Madelyn did not have a good nap yesterday and was fighting sleep, so we had some Mommy and Madelyn snuggle time!!!

New Niece

Shawn and Kristi had their little girl on July 23rd. Lindsay Michelle is a cute little girl. She was 6lb 6oz and 21 inches long. My parents, Rob, Madelyn, and I came out to see them on Thursday and we are staying until Monday. Here is one picture with my mom and her two granddaughter. Madelyn is doing very well with her and loves to giver her kisses. More pictures to come later.
